8th Grade French 1
8th grade French at RMS is a year long, high school-credit course. Because it is a high school class, students will take an EOC in June that counts as 20% of their overall grade, and will test them in the four areas of language learning: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. Upon successful completion, students will proceed to French 2 as a 9th grader.
In this class, students will build on material learned in 6th and 7th grade French. They will progress towards basic paragraph writing. Units taught include All About Me, All Around Town, My Activities, and School and Me. Some of the grammar learned includes noun-adjective agreement, verb conjugation, and question formation. We strive to incorporate technology as much as possible in our class, and use our Chromebooks and our class set of iPads regularly to create a fun and innovative learning environment.
